What does it truly mean to be beautiful within modern day society?
Flawless is a short film following the inner conscious of Elly, a young woman who feels the societal pressures to look a particular way in order to be deemed beautiful.
ABOUT THE SOUNDTRACK
Flawless is an exploration of beauty and self-trust through the musicality of Elly’s thoughts. It all starts with her inner fears, deep inside her mind, low drones that resonate all along the piece. Even it is really low in the mix, Maxime Hurtado uses raw, distorted, almost industrial sounds. A sense of violently freezing frights in front of the mirror. There is also all the clock-like percussions ticking as the passing time, threatening the dying youth of Elly. It surrounds Elly’s mind with massive reverbs and wide stereo effects. Then it breaks down and synths crashes as Elly’s self esteem. But soaring legato strings witness the changes. The will to free from the barriers. It is an ascent towards healing.
